Prime Video to Stream The Game Awards for the First Time
The Game Awards 2025 will stream on Prime Video for the first time on December 11th. This Game Awards 2025 Prime Video streaming expands beyond the traditional Twitch broadcast. The show airs from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater between 5-8pm PT. Additionally, it features world premieres, announcements and live performances. Creator Geoff Keighley calls Prime Video “a natural home for our show.”
Expanded Streaming and Viewing Benefits
The Game Awards 2025 Prime Video partnership significantly increases accessibility. Twitch will stream the show in 2K resolution for the first time. Furthermore, thousands of creators can co-stream the broadcast. Last year, over 11,000 creators restreamed the show. Viewers watching 30+ minutes qualify for Twitch Drops including exclusive in-game items.
Amazon will relaunch its dedicated gaming shop during the event. Consequently, Prime members receive limited-time offers on nominated titles. These real-time deals last up to 24 hours while supplies last. The expanded distribution likely increases viewership beyond traditional gaming audiences.
Esports Categories and Recognition
The Game Awards 2025 Prime Video broadcast includes three esports categories. These recognize Best Esports Athlete, Team and Game. Last year’s winners included Faker and T1 from League of Legends. Other nominees featured Counter-Strike 2 and VALORANT. This year, T1 and Faker remain strong contenders following their Worlds 2025 victory.
The 2024 edition reached over 154 million livestreams across multiple platforms. Therefore, the Prime Video addition should further increase visibility. Esports fans can expect heightened engagement around competitive awards. However, specific esports activations remain undisclosed currently.
