Fuel Price Outlook in Pakistan: Diesel May Rise by Rs9.60, Petrol Likely to Drop Slightly
Fuel price outlook in Pakistan shows a mixed trend this fortnight. Petrol prices may fall slightly, bringing small relief to motorists. However, diesel and other fuels might get more expensive
According to the latest estimates, petrol prices could decrease by Rs1.96 per litre. In contrast, high-speed diesel may climb by Rs9.60 per litre. This change follows global oil market trends that continue to fluctuate. Therefore, the new prices could affect transportation and goods delivery across the country.
Diesel, Kerosene, and Light Oil May Increase
OGRA has prepared its initial price summary based on current international rates. Kerosene oil may see an increase of Rs8.82 per litre. Light diesel oil could also rise by Rs7.15 per litre. These adjustments reflect higher import and refining costs.
OGRA will forward its working paper to the Petroleum Division on November 15. The Petroleum Division and the Ministry of Finance will review it carefully. They will then send a joint summary to the Prime Minister for approval.
Government to Announce New Rates Soon
After approval, the Ministry of Finance will officially announce the revised fuel prices. The new rates will stay in effect for the next 15 days. Earlier, on November 1, the government had already raised kerosene and light diesel prices. As a result, consumers are watching closely to see how the next revision impacts their budgets.
