Nigeria School Attack Leaves Students Abducted and Teacher Dead

Armed men stormed a girls’ secondary school in north-western Nigeria during an early-morning raid. The Nigeria school attack happened at the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State. Authorities confirmed that at least 25 students were taken during the assault.

How the Attack Unfolded

The gang entered the school at about 04:00 local time on Monday. They moved quickly through the compound as students slept in their hostel. In addition, police officers on duty tried to stop them.
The attackers then exchanged gunfire with the police. However, the group managed to overpower the officers. They climbed the school fence and headed straight for the student hostels.
As a result, panic spread among the students. The armed men seized at least 25 girls and forced them out of the compound. Emergency responders later arrived to support the school community and gather information.

Lives Lost and Questions Raised

One teacher died while attempting to shield the students from harm. His actions highlighted the courage shown during the frightening attack. A second staff member suffered gunshot wounds and is now receiving medical care.
Authorities have started a search operation in nearby forests. They aim to rescue the abducted students and bring the attackers to justice. In addition, community leaders are urging the government to increase security in schools across the region.
Parents and residents remain deeply worried. The incident has renewed fear about rising violence targeting students. Therefore, many people are calling for stronger protections and faster response systems.
Officials say the investigation will continue until every missing student is found. Hope remains high as rescue teams work around the clock.
