Naqvi Leads Airport Visa Crackdown to Safeguard Travelers

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi led an airport visa crackdown during a surprise visit to Islamabad International Airport. He met travelers directly to hear their concerns. In addition, he warned that dishonest visa agents threaten people’s futures and damage Pakistan’s reputation.

Naqvi Reviews Airport Processes

Naqvi spent two hours checking immigration counters, staff availability, and passenger services. He observed how teams guided travelers and where delays appeared. As a result, he pushed officials to improve coordination and ensure quicker movement through the airport.
He also responded to a complaint filed on November 7 about limited staff at the immigration desks. Naqvi ordered a detailed inquiry and told authorities to review CCTV footage. In addition, he stressed the need for better scheduling so passengers do not face long waits.

Strong Action Against Fraud and Delays

Naqvi urged officers to assist travelers with valid documents without causing unnecessary delays. He noted that many people rely on smooth airport procedures for work, studies, or family visits. Therefore, he encouraged staff to stay alert, efficient, and respectful. However, he demanded strict action against individuals who try to use forged papers or illegal routes.
Naqvi also highlighted how the visa agent mafia misleads citizens with fake job promises. As a result, people lose savings and face serious risks abroad. He directed departments to create a more transparent and supportive system that protects everyone. In addition, he emphasized that honest oversight strengthens Pakistan’s global image.
Travelers shared helpful suggestions, including clearer signage and better queue management. Naqvi welcomed their feedback and promised regular monitoring. He said consistent improvements will make the airport more inclusive, efficient, and trustworthy. In addition, he encouraged passengers to report concerns so teams can respond quickly and enhance the travel experience for all.
