Roblox is trialing a new feature called Moments, designed to work like TikTok but built entirely around gameplay clips. The app allows users to record, edit, and share 30-second highlights from their Roblox sessions, keeping content within the platform instead of spreading across outside sites like TikTok or YouTube.
At its annual developers conference, Roblox explained that Moments includes built-in tools for game creators. Developers can customize how clips from their games appear, and viewers can instantly jump into the featured experience with a tap. This offers creators a new way to promote their work while strengthening player engagement.
The rollout comes as Roblox continues to expand its creator economy. The company recently increased its DevExchange payout rate by 8.5%, after paying more than $1 billion to developers last year. With more than 111 million daily active users, Roblox sees Moments as a natural extension of its community and a chance to compete directly with short-form platforms.
Currently in beta, Moments is being tested with select users before a wider release. If successful, it could reshape how Roblox creators market their games while giving players a seamless way to showcase their in-game stories.
