How to Unlock the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

Step 1: Defeat the Required Bosses

You must conquer two major demigods. First, defeat Starscourge Radahn in Caelid. Furthermore, you must vanquish Mohg, Lord of Blood. This boss resides in Mohgwyn Palace. As a result, these victories unlock the path to the DLC.

Step 2: Collect the Key Item

Mohg’s defeat triggers a new event. Reload the area by fast traveling away and back. Then, find the large withered arm in his arena. Interacting with it grants the “Pureblood Knight’s Medal.” Consequently, this item is your ticket to the new realm.

Step 3: Begin Your Journey

With the medal in your inventory, travel to the Cocoon of the Empyrean. This location is back in Mohg’s boss room. A prompt will appear to “Touch the withered arm.” Selecting this transports you to the Land of Shadow. Moreover, ensure your character is strong enough for the challenge.
