Pakistan Defence Forces Leadership Restructuring Draws Strong DG ISPR Statements
Field Marshal Asim Munir’s appointment as the head of the Pakistan defence forces drew congratulations from DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Thursday. He also condemned the toxic propaganda spread by what he described as a “mentally ill person” and that individual’s associates. The press briefing in Rawalpindi covered major defence and national security updates.
DG ISPR Highlights New Defence Structure
Lt Gen Chaudhry announced that the Chief of Defence Forces Headquarters now holds full operational status. He said the move strengthens Pakistan’s response in modern warfare. In addition, he explained that the nation must stay alert as global military dynamics continue to evolve.
He stressed that the armed forces do not follow any political ideology. “We are the Armed Forces of Pakistan,” he stated firmly. According to him, no region, ethnicity, or party can claim ownership over the military. Therefore, he warned individuals against dragging the army into political debates.
Strong Response to Harmful Narratives
DG ISPR said that certain individuals attempt to create fear by claiming the state cannot function without them. He rejected this idea and said such rhetoric threatens national security. He also clarified that freedom of expression does not give anyone the right to undermine state institutions.
He referred to recent inflammatory statements posted online. He noted that Indian media amplified these comments, which raised concerns about the motives behind them. He questioned the legality and ethics of launching campaigns that target the military leadership.
He added that the army will not tolerate any ideology that harms national security. “His politics is over,” he remarked, stressing that harmful propaganda must stop.
