Google also added an Enhanced HDR Brightness toggle, giving users more control during bright scenes.
Stronger Parental Controls
Android 16 QPR2 improves parental controls in the Settings app. The section now requires a PIN for access. Parents can set screen-time limits, manage app timers, and schedule downtime with simple tools. The update includes an Expressive Options feature for real-time captions. It adds emotion tags and ambient sound notes in videos and live streams. Gboard also gets new Emoji Kitchen combinations, which offer more creative ways to chat.
Extra Safety and Convenience
Google has added a Call Reason option in the Phone app. Callers can mark calls as urgent to help recipients respond faster. In addition, users can leave or report group chats more easily. Circle to Search now scans messages for potential scams. Chrome also gains Pinned Tabs for quick access.Android 16 QPR2 is rolling out in phases to Pixel 6 and newer devices.
