PIA Flight Disruptions as Dense Fog Hits Punjab Cities

PIA flight disruptions affected several major cities on Tuesday due to dense fog conditions. Pakistan International Airlines confirmed delays in Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, and Faisalabad. Both domestic and international flights faced temporary changes.
The national carrier said poor visibility created safety concerns. Therefore, PIA adjusted its flight schedule to avoid risks. Officials stressed that passenger safety remains the airline’s top priority.

Fog disrupts domestic and international flights

PIA spokesperson said dense fog reduced visibility during landing and takeoff. These conditions made normal flight operations difficult. As a result, some flights faced delays or rescheduling.
The airline urged passengers to stay informed before traveling. For example, travelers should confirm flight details before leaving for the airport. This step can help avoid long waits and confusion.
In addition, PIA encouraged passengers to use official channels for updates. People can contact the PIA helpline for real-time information. Online flight status tools also remain available for public use.

Weather outlook warns of continued fog

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a cold and dry weather forecast. Most parts of the country are likely to experience low temperatures. However, fog and smog conditions may continue.
According to the outlook, moderate to dense fog may persist in Punjab. Upper Sindh and plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may also face reduced visibility. Therefore, travelers should plan carefully.
Last week, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority issued a similar warning. The agency predicted heavy fog and smog from December 12 to 16. It also urged citizens to take precautionary measures.
Authorities continue to advise caution during travel. Airlines and weather officials are coordinating closely. As a result, passengers can expect updates as conditions improve.
