Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Expands with “From the Ashes”
Ubisoft launches the “From the Ashes” expansion for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora today, introducing a darker story chapter and intense new combat. This major update follows the Na’vi warrior So’lek as he battles the fearsome Ash Clan, a breakaway Mangkwan warband. The expansion arrives alongside the theatrical release of Avatar: Fire and Ash, offering fans a multi-platform adventure.
A Dark New Chapter and Dangerous Foes
The expansion opens a dangerous new sub-region called The Ravages within the Ravaged Kinglor Forest. Here, So’lek confronts his scarred rival, the warrior Wukula, and a deadly sniper named Zari. Their violent shared history now fuels a deeply personal conflict that threatens the entire Western Frontier.
Meanwhile, the RDA’s Major Tyler Bukowski orchestrates a new offensive, coordinating directly with the Ash Clan against the Resistance. This alliance creates a multi-front war, forcing So’lek and the Sarentu to fight enemies on all sides. Consequently, players face a more complex and morally grey battlefield than ever before.
Revolutionary Combat and Enhanced Gameplay
“For the first time, players engage in direct Na’vi-versus-Na’vi battles,” said Creative Director Omar Bouali. This core shift demands new tactics, as each Ash Clan fighter uses a unique style. For example, players must counter Wukula’s relentless melee attacks, avoid Zari’s lethal sniping, and survive Rakx’s aerial assaults from her ikran.
To match these threats, the RDA also deploys powerful new units like hellhounds and specialized AMP suits. The expansion also adds enhanced traversal and the highly requested option to switch between first and third-person camera views. Therefore, combat becomes more dynamic, strategic, and visually immersive across both ground and aerial encounters.
Launch Details and Available Editions
This content drop follows a significant free update in December that added New Game+ and a third-person mode to the base game. “From the Ashes advances Pandora’s mythology in bold ways,” said Joshua Izzo of Lightstorm Entertainment, inviting players to experience untold stories.
