Pharma Supply Revival Brings Back Missing Medicines Across Pakistan
Pakistan’s medicine supply shows strong recovery signs. This pharma supply revival brings relief to patients nationwide. Industry leaders confirm major progress after months of shortages. As a result, access to treatment has improved across urban and rural areas.
Shortage Crisis Eases
The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association shared fresh data.
It said over 80% of missing items are back in circulation. Nearly 200 products had vanished about two years ago. Production costs had exceeded regulated prices, forcing companies to halt output.
However, policy adjustments and pricing reviews changed the situation. Manufacturers slowly restarted operations and rebuilt supply chains. Therefore, retail availability improved during the last 22 months. Patients and doctors now report fewer disruptions.
Industry Sees Growth Ahead
The association noted rising confidence within the sector. Patient access has reached one of its highest levels so far. In addition, local producers expanded quality standards. Several firms earned global certifications, including WHO and PIC/S approvals. These credentials open doors to advanced export markets. For example, companies can now target Europe and North America.
Moreover, industry leaders expect more progress soon. Another 10 to 12 firms may secure export approvals within a year. Experts believe this trend strengthens long-term stability. It also supports innovation and competitive manufacturing practices. As a result, Pakistan’s pharmaceutical landscape looks more resilient. Stakeholders expect consistent availability if reforms continue.
