Islamabad Cricket Stadium Plan Accelerated as Minister Sets 10-Day Deadline

Plans for the Islamabad cricket stadium have entered a crucial phase after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi set a strict deadline. He directed officials to submit the final stadium design within 10 days. Therefore, the project now moves toward faster execution.
The minister issued these instructions during a meeting at the CDA headquarters. Officials reviewed several public welfare and infrastructure projects for the capital. During the briefing, authorities shared updates on a modern cricket stadium. As a result, the minister demanded timely completion of its design.

Infrastructure and Urban Development Plans

The meeting approved land allocation for a new national park in Islamabad. In addition, officials agreed to expand the Safe City Project. Authorities plan to use advanced technologies to improve urban safety. Therefore, residents can expect stronger surveillance and faster emergency response
The Islamabad cricket stadium was not the only project discussed. Authorities also reviewed plans for a smart underpass at Kashmir Chowk. This underpass aims to reduce traffic congestion. The minister again asked for the final design within 10 days.
Officials also decided to involve reputable firms for a five-star hotel project. Moreover, the meeting approved forming a special team to manage solid waste services. These steps aim to improve cleanliness and service delivery.

Law Enforcement and Public Land Use

Authorities allocated land for headquarters of multiple law enforcement agencies. These include the Federal Constabulary, Rangers, and Islamabad Traffic Police. Meanwhile, officials also examined proposals for a new convention centre.
The minister requested details about long-vacant commercial plots. He stressed that unused land must serve public needs. Furthermore, he reaffirmed the continuation of the anti-encroachment drive. Reclaimed land, he said, will benefit citizens.
Overall, the Islamabad cricket stadium initiative reflects a broader push for planned development. With firm timelines, Islamabad’s urban landscape may soon see visible change.
