LPG Price Rise Pakistan: New Rates Announced for January
The LPG price rise Pakistan has taken effect from January. OGRA announced the new rates through an official notification late Monday.
As a result, households now face higher cooking fuel costs. According to OGRA, LPG prices increased by Rs10.68 per kilogram.
Therefore, the new rate now stands at Rs219.67 per kilogram. In December, consumers paid Rs209 per kilogram.
This increase may feel small per unit. However, it adds pressure on monthly household budgets.
Many families already struggle with rising energy expenses.
New LPG Cylinder Prices for January
Due to the revised rates, cylinder prices have also increased. OGRA confirmed a rise of Rs126.09 per domestic cylinder.
As a result, the new cylinder price reached Rs2,592.19. In comparison, the same cylinder cost Rs2,466.10 in December.
This difference may seem limited at first glance.
However, frequent refills make the impact more noticeable. The new LPG prices came into force from midnight. Therefore, retailers and distributors must follow the updated rates.
Consumers should check prices before making purchases.
Why LPG Prices Changed
OGRA explained the reasons behind the price adjustment. The authority aligns LPG rates with international market trends.
For example, global crude oil prices influence local fuel costs. In addition, exchange rate movements affect import related expenses.
As a result, price revisions aim to ensure transparency. OGRA says this approach protects both consumers and suppliers.
Energy experts say such increases remain part of global trends. However, they stress the need for better domestic energy planning.
Affordable alternatives could help reduce reliance on LPG. For many households, LPG remains a vital energy source. It supports cooking needs in urban and rural areas alike. Therefore, price stability remains a public concern. Consumers are advised to use LPG carefully. Simple steps can help reduce monthly usage.
For instance, efficient stoves can lower fuel consumption.
