Pakistan Rights Movement Launched by Mushtaq Ahmad in Islamabad
Former senator Mushtaq Ahmad on Sunday launched the Pakistan Rights Movement in Islamabad. He announced the new political party during a press conference. He said the party would fight for constitutional rule and basic rights.
Mushtaq Ahmad described the launch as a response to growing injustice. He stressed unity, equality, and public welfare. As a result, he invited citizens from all backgrounds to support the movement.
Vision Based on Constitution and Justice
The party will follow the 1973 Constitution strictly. Mushtaq Ahmad said the Constitution recognizes the sovereignty of Almighty Allah. He added that it also guarantees Islamic principles in governance.
He called for the immediate release of all political prisoners. These included PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He also named Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr Yasmin Rashid, and Ejaz Chaudhary.
According to him, the Pakistan Rights Movement will oppose elite control. Therefore, it will work to end the monopoly of a privileged few. He said equality would remain central to party policies.
The former senator said the party supports freedom of expression. In addition, it seeks access to education and healthcare for all. He stressed the need to eliminate poverty and corruption.
Focus on Islamic Values and Global Causes
Mushtaq Ahmad said Pakistan’s Islamic identity remains clear. He explained that the Quran and Sunnah guide the state. Therefore, laws must reflect these principles.
He said the party wants Pakistan to act on global justice issues. These include support for Palestine and Kashmir. He also demanded justice for Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
The Pakistan Rights Movement aims to build a welfare-based Islamic democracy. Mushtaq Ahmad said the party would remain peaceful and constitutional. He promised transparent and principled politics.
He said the movement begins with three core slogans. These are rights, resistance, and reform. As a result, the party hopes to reshape Pakistan’s political future.
