PIA Partners with UK and Canadian Rail Services for Seamless “Air-to-Rail” Travel
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched a new international travel initiative to simplify journeys. The airline has formed key “air-to-rail” partnerships with train services in the United Kingdom and Canada. This allows travelers to book combined flight and train tickets for a seamless journey to dozens of destinations on a single itinerary.
The agreement is designed to eliminate the hassle of separate bookings. Passengers can now book onward train travel directly through PIA’s channels for smooth connectivity. A spokesperson said the partnerships make journeys “smoother and more convenient” for international travelers.
Expanded Connectivity to Dozens of Destinations
Under the new system, passenger options are significantly expanded in two key markets. In Canada, those arriving at Toronto Pearson Airport can connect via rail to eight major Canadian cities.
In the United Kingdom, travelers landing at London Heathrow or Manchester Airport gain access to over 50 destinations across the country by train. This integration solves the “last mile” problem for passengers heading beyond major aviation hubs.
Simple Booking Through PIA Channels
The booking process for these integrated journeys has been streamlined for passenger convenience. Combined tickets can be reserved through PIA’s booking offices, its website, mobile app, or registered travel agents.
This initiative marks a significant step for PIA in enhancing its international service. It provides a competitive, hassle-free travel experience in key diaspora and business markets, elevating the standard of service for passengers flying from Pakistan.
