CDF Munir Highlights Police Role During SHIELD Capacity Briefing

Chief of Defense Force and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the value of community-focused policing in Pakistan. He shared these views during the SHIELD capacity briefing at the National Police Academy in Islamabad. His message focused on unity, service, and public trust.
He addressed senior police leaders and interacted with officers of the Police Service of Pakistan. He praised their professionalism and courage. As a result, his remarks reinforced morale and confidence among officers.

Police as the first line of defense

During the visit, Field Marshal Munir described the police as the first line of defense. He said officers protect lives, property, and dignity every day. Therefore, strong policing remains essential for internal security.
He acknowledged sacrifices made by police personnel against terrorism and crime. In addition, he laid a wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Monument. He also offered prayers to honour fallen officers.
Senior police officials reaffirmed their commitment to reform and modernization. However, they stressed the need for advanced training and resources. Their focus remains on meeting present-day security challenges.

Training, reforms, and institutional support

Officials briefed the army chief on SHIELD initiatives and training programs. The SHIELD capacity briefing highlighted elite law enforcement development. These programs aim to enhance skills and accountability.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry attended the visit. Meanwhile, the academy commandant welcomed the delegation with a guard of honour. Cadet ASPs also engaged in discussion with the army chief.
Field Marshal Munir assured continued support from the armed forces. He called law enforcement a sacred national responsibility. Ultimately, the visit strengthened cooperation, reform, and public confidence nationwide.
