Pakistan US Law Enforcement Cooperation Expands Against Visa Fraud
Pakistan and the United States have agreed to expand law enforcement cooperation to
tackle shared security challenges. The decision came during a high-level meeting in Islamabad. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker to finalize the understanding.
Both sides stressed the need for stronger coordination. Therefore, they agreed to deepen engagement between police and investigative agencies. The move reflects growing trust between the two countries.
Joint Action Against Visa Fraud Networks
During the meeting, both sides agreed to launch joint operations against fake visa networks. These actions will follow comprehensive standard operating procedures. As a result, enforcement agencies can act more effectively.
Talks also focused on preventing illegal immigration. The officials reviewed the pre-immigration clearance system and its performance. In addition, they discussed ways to improve screening mechanisms.
Mohsin Naqvi shared key progress updates. He said the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against agent mafias. Therefore, authorities will show no leniency to those involved.
He also welcomed US support in this effort. According to him, strong cooperation will help dismantle criminal networks faster. He revealed that illegal immigration has dropped by 47 percent due to recent measures.
Stronger Bilateral Ties and Modern Reforms
Natalie Baker reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to Pakistan. She said the United States values its relationship with Pakistan. Moreover, she noted that both countries share aligned priorities.
She added that deeper cooperation will further strengthen bilateral ties. As a result, collaboration will expand beyond enforcement into institutional capacity building.
Mohsin Naqvi said he personally oversees operations against fake visa rackets. He also highlighted reforms in passport security. Authorities now use modern technology to make passports foolproof.
Calling illegal immigration a serious concern, he said enforcement agencies are conducting a full-scale crackdown. Overall, the meeting signaled a firm joint resolve to address transnational crime.
