Chinese Creator Builds One Console That Combines PS5, Xbox, and Switch

A Chinese tech creator known as 小宁子 (XNZ) has built a custom gaming console that combines three major platforms into a single device. The project, called the Ningtendo PXBOX 5, merges a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2 into one compact system. The idea aims to reduce clutter caused by owning multiple consoles for exclusive games.
Instead of running all systems at once, the console operates one platform at a time. A physical button lets users switch between platforms in about three seconds. As a result, gamers do not need to unplug cables or change display inputs. This makes the setup simpler and more convenient. The creator designed the project as a proof of concept rather than a commercial product. Still, it highlights growing frustration around hardware exclusivity and space-consuming gaming setups.

How the Ningtendo PXBOX 5 Works

The custom console uses a single cooling fan and a 250-watt power supply. This shared design helps manage heat and energy use efficiently. However, it also creates space limitations. Because of this, both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X inside the system are digital-only versions. There is no room for disc drives within the compact enclosure. Therefore, all games must be downloaded digitally. The Nintendo Switch 2 component also fits into the unified design without its standard dock.
Despite the technical challenges, the system switches platforms smoothly. The three-second transition shows careful engineering and precise internal layout. According to viewers, the project demonstrates impressive craftsmanship rather than mass-market practicality.
Experts note that this kind of build would be difficult to commercialize. Licensing restrictions, hardware costs, and warranty concerns make such products unlikely for retail. However, the project still sparks discussion about the future of gaming hardware. As digital libraries grow and cloud gaming expands, many gamers want simpler setups. The Ningtendo PXBOX 5 reflects this desire clearly. While it will never be sold publicly, it proves that creative engineering can challenge how gaming hardware is designed today.
