Egypt Showcases Tourism Drive at Major EMITT Expo in Istanbul
Egypt is making a major push for global tourists. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, inaugurated the national pavilion at EMITT 2026 in Istanbul. This exhibition is one of the world’s leading tourism forums.
Minister Fathy highlighted the event’s importance. He called it a crucial meeting place for industry experts. Furthermore, he stated it provides a key platform to engage Turkish partners.
The goal is to increase visitor numbers from Turkey. Tourist arrivals from Turkey saw significant growth in 2025. Therefore, meetings with Turkish tour operators and airlines are a top priority.
Inside the Egyptian Pavilion
The pavilion is a substantial showcase. It covers 200 square meters and features 18 private exhibitors. These include 9 tourism companies and 9 hotel establishments.
National airlines EgyptAir and Air Cairo are also present. During a tour, Minister Fathy discussed new proposals. These ideas aim to boost tourist inflows to various Egyptian destinations.
Senior officials attended the opening ceremony. They included Egypt’s Ambassador to Ankara and the CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority. Their presence underscores the mission’s importance.
A Platform for Global Engagement
EMITT is a significant international event. It attracts over 100 countries and roughly 600 exhibitors annually. The exhibition also draws more than 30,000 professional visitors.
Minister Fathy’s agenda includes high-level meetings in Turkey. He will explore new bilateral tourism cooperation opportunities. Additionally, he will conduct media interviews to highlight Egypt’s diverse attractions.
This active participation shows Egypt’s commitment to tourism recovery. It is a strategic effort to connect with key markets and showcase the country’s timeless appeal.
