First Ever Permanent Pokémon Theme Park Opens in Tokyo
Tokyo is now home to a brand-new adventure. The world’s first permanent Pokémon theme park opened on Thursday. Named PokéPark Kanto, it instantly drew huge crowds of fans and families.
The park is located inside the Yomiuriland amusement complex. It spans an impressive 2,600 square meters. Furthermore, it is cleverly divided into two distinct experience areas.
The first area is an immersive forest trail. Visitors walk a path surrounded by nature. They encounter more than 600 life-sized and giant Pokémon statues set among hills and rocks. Please note, accessing this woodland area requires climbing 110 steps without assistance.
Attractions for Every Fan
The second area focuses on interactive fun. It features exciting games, unique themed food, and live stage shows. A large merchandise shop also offers exclusive souvenirs.
Consequently, the park appeals to a wide audience. It is built for children aged five and over, families, and hard-core fans. It also attracts nostalgic GenZ visitors who grew up with the franchise.
Early ticket sales prove its popularity. All advance tickets sold out very quickly. This high demand is giving a significant boost to Japan’s tourism industry. Visitors are eagerly welcomed by iconic statues of Pikachu and other beloved creatures.
A Lasting Landmark
This opening marks a historic moment. Previous Pokémon parks were temporary installations. For example, one ran in Nagoya for six months in 2005. Another appeared in Australia in 1999.
However, PokéPark Kanto is built to last. Therefore, it establishes a permanent must-see destination for global travelers and fans for years to come.
