Housemarque’s Saros Launches April 30 on PS5

Housemarque unveils its next action game during PlayStation State of Play. Saros release date is April 30, 2026 exclusively on PS5. The studio behind Returnal brings another challenging third-person action experience. Rahul Kohli stars as protagonist Arjun Devraj in this new title. The story takes place on Carcosa, a lost colony under an eclipse. Arjun is a Soltari Enforcer searching for someone mysterious. Housemarque describes it as an emotional character study about creating a new future.

Return to Fast-Paced, Challenging Gameplay

The game builds on Housemarque’s signature fast-paced, challenging style established previously. However, it introduces a fresh approach to progression and permanence after death. Unlike Returnal, Saros incorporates permanent resources after each death experience. You can retain and improve your equipment over multiple runs consistently.
Consequently, every death feels precious and meaningful to progression forward. Dying also changes the environment and offers new strategic opportunities. The eclipse-shrouded colony provides a haunting backdrop for the action. Kohli’s performance adds an extra dimension to the narrative throughout.

A New Universe from a Beloved Studio

Fans of Returnal will recognize the studio’s DNA throughout this new title. The combat looks intense and rewards skill and precision at every turn. Pre-orders are open now for those eager to secure their copy. Players have just over two months to wait before launch arrives.
Saros aims to deliver another unforgettable action experience for dedicated fans. The combination of permanent progression and challenging combat is compelling. This could be one of 2026’s standout PlayStation exclusives. The game was revealed during State of Play on February 12.
