Lahore Railway Station Upgrade Brings Modern Parking and Improved Access

Lahore Railway Station Upgrade Brings Modern Parking and Improved Access

Thousands of passengers using Pakistan Railways will soon benefit from the Lahore Railway Station upgrade. Authorities have started work on a modern parking facility and an adjoining park. The Punjab government supports the project, and officials expect completion later this year.
For years, travelers faced traffic jams and long parking queues. Limited space often caused major delays. However, the new plan promises faster and smoother access.

Modern Parking and Better Road Access

The Lahore Railway Station upgrade includes parking space for 250 to 300 vehicles. This expansion will reduce congestion and save valuable time. As a result, passengers will avoid hours of waiting.
Officials are also building a dedicated bridge for direct entry. In addition, new connecting roads will link the station to major city routes. Travelers heading only to the railway will use a scenic, separate road for easy access.
Exit routes will remain streamlined to prevent traffic buildup. Moreover, authorities are constructing separate roads for those traveling to other parts of Lahore. These changes will improve traffic flow around the station. Deputy Director Lahore Development Authority Faisal Shafeeh confirmed that the project will meet its deadline. He stated that thousands of passengers will reach the station without obstruction once work finishes.

Enhanced Facilities for Passengers

Authorities have also improved the station’s interior. A family lounge and a VIP lounge now operate inside the historic building. These spaces offer comfortable seating and premium food and beverage services.
The upgrades aim to enhance both convenience and visual appeal. Therefore, commuters and their families will enjoy a more pleasant travel experience.
Once completed, the Lahore Railway Station upgrade will transform daily travel. The project will make arrivals and departures faster, safer, and more organised for everyone.
