Pakistan Displays Tourism Potential at ITB Berlin 2026
Pakistan has made a strong, coordinated presence at ITB Berlin 2026. The world’s leading travel trade exhibition is currently underway in Germany. It runs from March 3 to 5. Pakistan’s vibrant presence reflects its expanding tourism diplomacy. It also strengthens its footprint in the European travel market.
Unified National Pavilion
The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) organized the country’s participation. It operates under the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC). Provincial tourism departments from Punjab, Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan are taking part. Additionally, 16 leading private sector tour operators and hospitality companies joined. This unified platform reflects robust federal-provincial coordination. It also demonstrates an effective public-private partnership. The goal is to promote Pakistan as a dynamic and emerging travel destination.
Official Inauguration
Senior Pakistani officials formally inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion. Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany, Saqlain Syedah, attended the ceremony. The pavilion showcases Pakistan’s diverse tourism offerings. These range from mountain and adventure tourism in the north to rich cultural and heritage experiences rooted in ancient civilizations. Religious tourism and eco-tourism are also being promoted. Emerging investment opportunities in tourism infrastructure are highlighted as well. This presents Pakistan as a multifaceted destination with vast untapped potential.
Ambassador’s Remarks
Speaking at the inauguration, Ambassador Syedah emphasized Pakistan’s unique appeal. She said Pakistan offers “a remarkable combination of natural beauty, ancient civilizations, and vibrant culture.” She noted that participation at ITB Berlin 2026 demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening tourism partnerships. It also fosters people-to-people connections between Pakistan, Germany, and Europe at large.
PTDC’s Vision
Managing Director PTDC, Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana, described the participation as a coordinated national effort. The aim is to enhance Pakistan’s soft image globally. Through close collaboration with provincial authorities and private stakeholders, Pakistan is positioning itself as a safe, welcoming, and high-potential destination. This applies to both international travelers and investors.
