Motorway Police Announce Safety Plan for Eid Travel Rush

Motorway Police Announce Safety Plan for Eid Travel Rush

The Motorway Police are implementing a comprehensive safety plan for Eid-ul-Fitr. Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry issued these directives on Tuesday. His goal is to ensure safe and smooth travel for all commuters during the holidays. He chaired the monthly Regional Conference to share these instructions. Officers from across the country attended the meeting.

Key Directives for Safe Eid Travel

The IG gave clear orders to all officers present. First, they must ensure strict action against overcharging. Public service vehicles (PSVs) cannot exploit passengers during the rush. Second, there will be zero tolerance for overloading. All vehicles must follow their prescribed passenger limits. Officers will also check luggage compartments thoroughly. This step prevents the illegal transportation of passengers.
In addition, officers will verify fitness certificates and route permits. They will pay special attention to accident-prone locations. These “black spots” need enhanced preventive measures. The IG emphasized that no compromise is acceptable on traffic violations. Over-speeding, lane violations, and reckless driving are top priorities.

Enhanced Patrolling and Toll Plaza Management

The IG directed that motorway patrolling be further strengthened. This ensures effective enforcement and timely assistance for drivers. Considering the expected traffic rush, additional staff will deploy at toll plazas. The goal is to maintain a smooth flow of vehicles. Therefore, officers must coordinate with authorities to open maximum toll booths during peak hours. This proactive step will help prevent long queues and delays.

Focus on Safety Awareness and Fuel Conservation

The IG also addressed broader operational matters. He directed strict implementation of austerity and fuel conservation measures. This responds to the prevailing global and regional situation. Furthermore, he ordered targeted road safety awareness campaigns. These campaigns will promote safe driving practices nationwide. They aim to educate the public and reduce road traffic accidents.
With these comprehensive measures, the Motorway Police aim to make Eid travel safer for everyone. Their focus remains on protecting passengers and ensuring a smooth journey.
