Directive 8020 Couch Co-Op Movie Night Mode Revealed in New Trailer

Directive 8020 Couch Co-Op Movie Night Mode Revealed in New Trailer

Developer Supermassive Games unveils a live-action trailer showcasing the couch co-op experience for Directive 8020. Directive 8020 co-op mode allows up to five players to experience the sci-fi horror story together locally. The returning Movie Night mode lets players pass a single controller between each other. Each player takes control of a crew member aboard the colony ship Cassiopeia. The story unfolds as the controller passes from person to person throughout sessions. Every choice matters and every mistake can prove fatal for the crew. Players must work together to survive alien infiltrators and deadly dilemmas. Catastrophic system failures add additional layers of tension to the experience. The game warns players to trust no one, not even their friends.

Survive Together or Die Alone

The trailer intercuts footage of friends playing with in-game moments of quick-time actions. Narrative decisions and alien mimics keep everyone on edge throughout playthroughs. Why be creeped out alone when you can share the terror with friends? A free post-launch update will add five-player online multiplayer support later. This update will mirror the couch co-op experience for online groups.

New Turning Points Feature Detailed

Directive 8020 introduces Turning Points, a new feature for The Dark Pictures series. Players can revisit pivotal decisions through a visual branching story tree. Major choices and outcomes map out as the story progresses over time. This gives greater control over how the narrative ultimately unfolds.
If a critical moment results in death or fractured alliances, you can return. Players can explore alternative paths or retry quick-time events as needed. Turning Points adds social tension and excitement to group sessions. Groups can debate whether to accept consequences or rewind to save favorites.
