Kenya Floods Death Toll Hits 66 as More Rain Batters Nairobi
Four more people have died in Kenya floods. This brings the week’s death toll to at least 66. Heavy rain continues to batter the country.The capital, Nairobi, was hit by more rain overnight. However, no new deaths were reported there. Rescue operations continue across affected areas.
Dramatic Rescues
The Kenya Red Cross reported several rescues. Eleven people were saved from a stuck minibus taxi. The matatu got trapped as water rose in Nairobi. Two children were also rescued from a flooded house.
Widespread Damage
Heavy rainfall over the past week has triggered flash floods. Rivers have burst their banks across the country. Homes are flooded and roads damaged.
