Dead by Daylight: The Hillbilly Comic Series Launches April 8

Titan Comics announces Dead by Daylight: The Hillbilly, a four-part comic series revealing the origin of the original killer. Dead by Daylight Hillbilly comic arrives April 8, 2026, from writer Derek Fridolfs and artists Dean Kotz and Alison Hu. The debut issue follows rookie cop Officer Darnell Hollis in a small town. Hollis makes the largest drug bust in his town’s history, drawing City Hall’s attention. He begins experiencing horrific visions of violence and viscera as waking nightmares. At Coldwind Farm, he confronts a monster kept in a dark basement living for slaughter. A man called Boy tests the strength of his chains waiting to break free. The 32-page issue costs $4.99 with an exclusive in-game code included.

What the Series Offers

This marks the first time Dead by Daylight focuses on a single protagonist. The game typically pits one Killer against four Survivors in multiplayer matches. This shift in status quo keeps readers on their toes throughout. The series promises major lore drops about The Hillbilly and more.
Issue #1 features a main cover by Alex Horley with variant covers available. Niclas Mortensen, Francesca Ciregia, and Dean Kotz provide incentivizing variant options. Issue #2 follows on May 13, with issues #3 and #4 in June and July. Titan Comics editor Phoebe Hedges promises unpredictable storytelling throughout the series.

Expanding the Dead by Daylight Universe

The comic follows 2023’s Dead by Daylight Volume 1: The Legion graphic novel. That series marked the first-ever graphic novel spinoff of the games. The Entity’s ability to kidnap killers from different worlds explains the crossover roster. Iconic licensed killers include Halloween’s Michael Myers and Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head.
Dead by Daylight remains one of gaming’s most successful live-service horror titles. The Hillbilly finally gets a well-deserved spotlight thanks to this Titan Comics series. Exclusive game codes make these issues must-haves even for non-readers. The retro art style alone convinces many fans to pick up these issues.
