Russian Strikes Kill Five Across Ukraine, Hit Moldovan Power Link
At least five people have died in Russian strikes across Ukraine. A massive overnight aerial bombardment targeted several regions. The attacks were among the worst in ten days. A 61-year-old woman died when a drone hit an electric train in Kharkiv early on Tuesday. Other deaths occurred in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Poltava. Authorities continue to assess the damage.
Zelensky’s Warning
The attacks came hours after President Zelensky’s nightly address. He had warned of a forthcoming “massive strike.” Therefore, this Russia Ukraine strikes energy campaign was clearly signalled.
Moldova Affected
Russian strikes targeting energy infrastructure had wider consequences. They disconnected Moldova’s key power link with Europe. President Maia Sandu warned the situation remained “fragile.”The attacks show Russia’s continued focus on energy infrastructure. Ukraine’s grid remains under constant threat. Moldova now faces its own energy crisis.
