Kazakhstan Lifts Egypt Travel Ban
Kazakhstan has officially removed Egypt from its no-travel list. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision on March 27. Officials considered the current situation and functioning infrastructure. International airports and tourist areas in Egypt are now deemed safe.
This update marks a positive shift for Kazakh travelers. Egypt becomes an accessible destination once again. However, caution remains for other countries in the region.
13 Countries Remain on No-Travel List
Despite Egypt’s removal, the ministry maintains strict travel warnings. Thirteen Middle Eastern nations remain on the no-travel list. These include Bahrain, Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Lebanon are also listed. Oman, Qatar, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen complete the list.
The ministry cites ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Periodic airspace closures by several countries contribute to the risk. Therefore, Kazakhstan recommends refraining from all travel to these nations. This advice remains until the situation fully normalizes.
Safety Advice for Kazakh Citizens
Kazakh citizens currently in the region face heightened warnings. The ministry urges them to exercise extreme personal safety measures. They should avoid potentially dangerous areas at all times. Following local authorities’ instructions is essential.
In the event of a missile threat, citizens must proceed to shelters immediately. Maintaining constant contact with foreign missions is crucial. Tour operators and air carriers should also remain in close communication.
This update follows recent diplomatic discussions. Earlier, the Kazakh and Iranian foreign ministers met to address the Middle East situation. The removal of Egypt from the list reflects a careful assessment of regional conditions. While one destination reopens, Kazakhstan continues to prioritize citizen safety across the broader region.
