Lost Soul Aside Patch 1.009 Delivers Key Fixes and Optimizations

The developers of Lost Soul Aside have rolled out Patch 1.009, a new update designed to improve performance and fix lingering issues on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Released on September 19, the patch addresses technical problems, polishes gameplay, and ensures a smoother overall experience for fans of the action-RPG.
Originally launched on August 29, Lost Soul Aside blends stylish combat with influences from Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry. Players take control of Kaser, tasked with rescuing his sister Louisa and humanity from the mysterious Voidrax. Despite high anticipation, the release was met with mixed reviews, largely due to persistent performance challenges on PC.
Patch 1.009 aims to fix these concerns. On PC, players will find corrected issues with pre-order rewards, resolved login crashes on the Epic Games Store, and optimized SSD detection prompts. Visual stability has also been improved, including refinements to ray-traced shadows that previously caused performance dips.
Gameplay has seen notable tweaks as well. Boss encounters in Chapter 4 have been rebalanced for smoother pacing, invincibility windows for Greatsword skills adjusted for responsiveness, and shield durations fine-tuned for better combat flow. Additional fixes include improved dialogue camera settings and more appearances of the NPC Liana during Chapter 2.
Smaller bugs have also been addressed, such as awkward background music transitions and UI errors on ultra-wide monitors. Combined, these improvements further polish the player experience.
While the game currently averages a 63 on OpenCritic, many players praise its combat system while criticizing story and performance. The ongoing patches reflect the team’s commitment to improvement. For fans, Update 1.009 signals steady progress toward a more stable and engaging Lost Soul Aside.
