Roguelike Hack-and-Slash Morbid Metal Enters Early Access April 8

Roguelike Hack-and-Slash Morbid Metal Enters Early Access April 8

Publisher Ubisoft and developer SCREEN JUICE announce Morbid Metal will enter Early Access on PC via Steam April 8. Morbid Metal Early Access launches with a limited-time price of $13.49, increasing to $17.99 afterward. The roguelike hack-and-slash action game lets players shapeshift between characters in real time. Chaining stylish combos becomes essential for tearing through waves of deadly machines. The Early Access version includes three playable characters, first bosses, and 10 enemy types. Three biomes with mid-run modifiers and over 60 routines (perks) await players. Protocols serve as character-specific attacks that significantly alter combat flow. Synergies across your loadout can be unlocked or upgraded through the Neural Nexus.

Early Access Content Overview

Mid-run interactables include Devil Bargain risk-reward choices and Eden’s Blessing routine upgrade stations. Optional encounters feature the Emporium mid-run shop and Operator’s Trial challenges. Advanced meta progression unlocks Protocols that can appear during runs as rewards. Corpora slots unlock through the Neural Nexus for additional mid-run effects.
The Void Nexus skill-tree system offers permanent incremental upgrades for dedicated players. Lore Codex entries expand the game’s worldbuilding for those interested in story. The full Early Access roadmap will be revealed April 17 during the Find Your Next Game Showcase. Six languages are supported at launch including English, German, Spanish, and Japanese.

What to Expect from Full Release

More languages may be added during Early Access based on player demand. The game delivers fast-paced hack-and-slash action with roguelite progression systems. Ubisoft backs this indie project from developer SCREEN JUICE. Players seeking challenging combat should keep Morbid Metal on their radar.
The shapeshifting mechanic allows switching between characters mid-combat for extended combos. Each character brings unique attacks and playstyles to master over time. The limited-time launch price offers excellent value for early adopters. April 8 marks the beginning of this ambitious roguelike’s journey.
