A Traditional Royal Gathering
For example, the Prince of Wales was present. Catherine, Princess of Wales, also attended. She has missed this traditional event for the past two years. Therefore, her return caught public attention.
Notable Absences This Year
However, some familiar faces were missing. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor did not attend. His ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was also absent. Their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, stayed away too.All four attended last year’s service. So why the change? It is understood the princesses made “alternative plans” for Easter. The palace has not provided further details. The service proceeded without disruption. The King and Queen appeared in good spirits.
