Saudi Ministry Partners with Bookme for Instant Umrah Visa to Pakistani Pilgrims
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has partnered with Bookme. The travel technology platform can now process instant Umrah visas for Pakistani pilgrims. The initiative was announced on Tuesday. It operates through a fully digital and automated system.
The collaboration includes the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and Elm Company. Elm is a key national digital infrastructure provider in Saudi Arabia. Bookme has enabled direct Umrah visa issuance within its platform. Pakistani pilgrims can now obtain visas through an end-to-end digital process.
How the Digital System Works
Pilgrims can access the service through Bookme’s website and mobile apps. Integrated partner platforms, including banking and fintech apps, also offer the service. The system connects directly with Saudi government infrastructure. It operates in real time.
The process eliminates physical visits, manual documentation, and intermediary processing. “There is no human intervention,” the travel platform stated. “No manual processing and no requirement for physical documentation.” The visa issues through a seamless, real-time system. Users enjoy a one-click experience backed directly by Saudi authorities.
Launch and Expected Impact
The solution launched during the final ten days of Ramadan 2026. Umrah visas were issued through the platform during this period. Pakistan is one of the largest source markets for Umrah pilgrims globally. The digital visa system improves access, transparency, and efficiency for pilgrims.
The initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 framework. It aims to digitize pilgrimage services across the board. The partnership materialized at the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum. The annual gathering took place in Madinah from March 30 to April 1.
Benefits for Pilgrims
The direct digital visa issuance reduces reliance on intermediaries. This lowers overall costs for consumers. Transparency increases significantly as a result. Pilgrims gain greater flexibility and control over their journey.
They can choose from a wide range of hotels and tours. Ziyarah experiences are available at market-driven pricing. The model allows users to customize travel according to individual preferences. This moves toward a more open and user-centric approach to Umrah planning.
Bookme is headquartered in Pakistan. The company operates across multiple regions. It provides digital booking services for travel, tourism, and mobility sectors.
“This partnership will fundamentally change how Pakistani pilgrims access Umrah,” said Faizan Aslam, Founder and CEO of Bookme. “The process is now instant, direct, and completely frictionless.” He added that several additional initiatives are already in the pipeline. This is only the beginning of a long-term collaboration.
