Fanti Carnival Lights Up Lagos Island with Colour
Elaborate costumes took over Lagos Island on Monday. Blaring music and vibrant processions followed. The annual Fanti Carnival had arrived in Nigeria’s financial hub.
The festivities have lit up this city for more than two centuries. They celebrate a unique legacy. That legacy belongs to the Afro-Brazilian returnees who once settled here.
