Islamabad Talks End Without Deal as US, Iran Urged to Hold Ceasefire

The Islamabad talks end without a final agreement after long discussions between the United States and Iran. However, leaders stressed the need to maintain calm and avoid escalation. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar urged both sides to uphold the ceasefire and continue dialogue for regional peace.

Pakistan urges calm after talks

Dar spoke to the media after the negotiations concluded in Islamabad. He thanked both countries for responding to Pakistan’s call for peace talks. In addition, he appreciated their willingness to engage in intense discussions despite rising tensions.
He said Pakistan facilitated several rounds of negotiations over the last 24 hours. Moreover, he highlighted the support of military leadership in ensuring smooth dialogue. As a result, both sides exchanged views openly, even though differences remained.
Dar emphasized that peace remains the top priority for the region. Therefore, he encouraged both countries to stay engaged and avoid further conflict. He added that Pakistan will continue to support diplomatic efforts in the coming days.

No deal, but dialogue continues

US Vice President JD Vance confirmed that the talks ended without an agreement. However, he described the discussions as productive and meaningful. He also praised Pakistan for its strong and sincere mediation efforts.
Vance noted that both sides held talks for more than 20 hours. Still, they could not resolve key issues. Even so, he expressed hope for future engagement between the two countries.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met both delegations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace. Meanwhile, Iranian and US officials also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to reduce tensions. Although the Islamabad talks end without success, both sides may return to the table soon.
