Sindh Police Plan Aerial Surveillance Wing for Smarter Security
The Sindh aerial surveillance plan aims to improve policing through advanced technology and real-time monitoring. Sindh Police have decided to create a dedicated Aerial Surveillance Wing. This unit will monitor cities, highways, railway tracks, and riverine areas more effectively.
New tech to strengthen policing
Inspector General Javed Alam Odho led a high-level meeting to discuss the initiative. Senior officers from IT, telecommunications, and operations attended the session. In addition, officials from Sukkur and Larkana joined through video link.
During the meeting, the DIG IT shared a detailed briefing on modern surveillance tools. He explained the use of drones, aerial systems, and other advanced equipment. Moreover, he outlined their features, training needs, and operational benefits.
Participants shared practical insights and highlighted possible challenges. However, they agreed that technology will improve law enforcement. As a result, the department plans to adopt modern systems for better monitoring.
Better safety and faster response
The IG stressed that aerial and digital tools represent the future of policing. He said these systems will make surveillance more efficient and reliable. Therefore, officers will respond to incidents more quickly.
Continuous monitoring will help detect suspicious activities early. In addition, it will support crime prevention across sensitive areas. Authorities also expect better traffic control and crowd management during public events.
The Sindh aerial surveillance project will also protect lives and property more effectively. Furthermore, it will strengthen coordination between different police units.
A special committee will now design the structure of the new wing. It will also develop standard procedures and an operational framework. As a result, Sindh Police aim to launch a modern and efficient surveillance system soon.
