Peshawar Zalmi PSL Triumph: Hardie Powers Second Title Win

Peshawar Zalmi sealed a memorable Zalmi PSL Triumph with a five-wicket win over Hyderabad Kingsmen. The final took place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Peshawar Zalmi Clinch Historic Win

Zalmi chased 130 runs with ease and finished the match in the 16th over. As a result, they lifted their second PSL trophy after their first win in 2017. However, the chase began on a shaky note. The team lost four quick wickets within the first five overs.

Hardie Leads the Charge

Aaron Hardie turned the game around with a brilliant all-round display. He took four wickets and later scored an unbeaten 56 runs. In addition, he smashed nine boundaries and earned Player of the Match. Abdul Samad also supported well with 48 runs. Together, they built an 85-run partnership that changed the game. Therefore, Zalmi recovered from early setbacks and secured victory. For Kingsmen, Mohammad Ali took three wickets and led the bowling attack. Meanwhile, Akif Javed and Hunain Shah picked one wicket each. Earlier, Kingsmen struggled with the bat despite Saim Ayub’s 54 runs. Hardie dismissed key players, including Glenn Maxwell and Ayub. In addition, Nahid Rana took two important wickets. Kingsmen’s batting lineup failed to build momentum. Seven players could not reach double figures, which hurt their chances. Zalmi entered the final with strong form and consistency. On the other hand, Kingsmen showed resilience despite a tough start to the season.
