Iron Bramble Revealed for PC With 2027 Release Window
PLAYISM, alongside Rusted Moss developer Emlise and indie studio Mini Bunnies, has officially announced Iron Bramble, a new momentum-based Metroidvania heading to PC via Steam in 2027. The upcoming action-platformer combines physics-driven grappling hook traversal with stylish gunplay inside a dark cyber-gothic world packed with dangerous enemies and supernatural mysteries.
Iron Bramble follows Lilac, a fae explorer who enters a massive mechanical structure known as the Iron Bramble. Inside the machine, robots powered by trapped human souls endlessly carry out punishment for forgotten sins. Players must use momentum-based movement, creative combat strategies, and precise platforming to survive while uncovering the truth hidden deep within the structure.
The game acts as a spiritual successor to Rusted Moss while significantly expanding its movement systems, combat mechanics, and world design. Developers promise a larger scope with more weapons, customization options, and exploration opportunities.
Iron Bramble Focuses on Momentum and Movement
The core gameplay system in Iron Bramble revolves around a physics-based grappling hook that allows players to swing through environments, launch themselves across gaps, and pull enemies closer during combat encounters. The developers describe the movement system as highly expressive and rewarding for players willing to experiment with momentum.
Combat also ties directly into traversal mechanics. Rocket launchers can be used for mobility through rocket jumps, while weapon recoil can help maintain speed and aerial movement during fights. Players can combine grappling techniques, gunplay, and platforming abilities to create advanced movement chains.
Customization plays a major role as well. Lilac can equip dresses, trinkets, and an arsenal of firearms that alter gameplay styles and abilities. Accessibility options and a dedicated story mode will also be available for players seeking a more relaxed experience.
Cyber-Gothic World Includes Bosses and Multiple Endings
PLAYISM confirmed that Iron Bramble will feature over 10 bosses, side missions, delivery quests, climbing challenges, and multiple endings. The game’s hand-crafted pixel art environments blend gothic fantasy with futuristic sci-fi themes inspired by haunted machinery and ruined architecture.
According to the developers, every visual asset has been fully handmade without generative AI. The narrative explores themes of identity, repentance, and mystery as Lilac navigates the sprawling cyber-gothic megastructure.
Iron Bramble is currently scheduled to release for PC via Steam sometime in 2027 with support for multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
