One Constitution Avenue Report Likely This Week

The inquiry committee investigating the One Constitution Avenue scandal may submit its final report to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif later this week. Officials said the committee has started compiling its findings after recording statements from key individuals linked to the case. The investigation focuses on alleged irregularities connected to the high-profile housing project. Therefore, authorities expect the report to identify those responsible and recommend further legal action.

Committee Reviews Statements and Past Investigations

The inquiry committee is headed by Azam Nazeer Tarar. Sources said the panel has included statements from senior officials, including the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA). In addition, residents currently living at One Constitution Avenue also recorded their statements before the committee.
Officials confirmed that the inquiry panel reviewed previous investigations conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), and the Public Accounts Committee. As a result, the committee aims to prepare a comprehensive report covering all major findings and allegations.
Sources added that investigators are also examining the FIA case registered in 2017. The committee will likely include those findings in its final recommendations.

Report May Recommend Legal Action

According to sources, the report will identify individuals allegedly involved in the scam and suggest legal and administrative measures. Officials believe the findings may support the position already taken by the Ministry of Interior and the CDA regarding the matter.
Earlier, Mohsin Naqvi described the One Constitution Avenue case as one of the country’s biggest scams. Therefore, the upcoming report may play an important role in determining future accountability and legal proceedings.
Authorities expect the inquiry findings to shape the next phase of action in the case.
