Dubai Basketball Semifinal Run Keeps ABA League Dream Alive

Dubai Basketball Dream continues after another big win in the ABA League. The UAE’s first professional basketball team secured a thrilling 88-84 victory over Spartak Office Shoes in Serbia on Sunday night. As a result, the club advanced to the semifinals for the second straight season. Dubai Basketball made headlines last year during their tournament debut. Now, the team stands one step closer to creating history once again. If they win the ABA League, they will become the first Asian club to lift the trophy. Head coach Jurica Golemac praised his players after the tense match. He said the team expected a strong response from Spartak after the first game. However, Dubai stayed calm and handled the pressure well. “The players fought until the end,” he said. “They showed great character during difficult moments.”

Stars Deliver in Crucial Victory

Canadian center Mfiondu Kabengele played another important role in the victory. He finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. In addition, his strong defense helped Dubai control key moments of the game. Bosnian star Džanan Musa also delivered an outstanding performance. The two-time EuroLeague champion scored 27 points and added five rebounds and six assists. Therefore, Musa proved once again why he remains one of the team’s most valuable players. Dubai Basketball won the quarterfinal series 2-0. Next, the club will face either Budućnost VOLI or U-BT Cluj-Napoca in the semifinals.

Historic Season Continues

This achievement becomes even more impressive because the team could not play home games in Dubai this season. Due to regional tensions, matches moved away from the Coca-Cola Arena. Despite those challenges, Dubai Basketball continued to compete at a high level. The club also finished 11th in its first EuroLeague campaign and narrowly missed the play-in spots. Now, fans across the region hope Dubai Basketball Dream can end with a historic title.
