Alex Murdaugh’s Murder Convictions Overturned, New Trial Ordered

A South Carolina court has overturned Alex Murdaugh’s murder convictions.

The disgraced lawyer was convicted of killing his wife and son in 2023. The state’s supreme court ordered a new trial on Wednesday.Murdaugh has been serving two life sentences for the murders of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh. The killings happened in June 2021. He is also serving additional sentences for state and federal financial crimes.
