Jhonatan Narvaez Wins Giro Stage Again After Thrilling Finish

Jhonatan Narvaez Wins another stage at the Giro d’Italia after a thrilling finish in Chiavari. The Ecuadorian rider defeated Spain’s Enric Mas during stage 11 on Wednesday. As a result, Narvaez secured his third stage victory of this year’s race. The 195-kilometre stage started in Porcari and ended in Chiavari. Riders faced several climbs and difficult downhill sections throughout the day. However, Narvaez stayed calm under pressure and timed his final sprint perfectly. Mas attacked first on the final climb and tried to break away. Narvaez quickly responded and stayed close behind his rival. Therefore, the battle continued until the final meters of the stage. After the race, Narvaez praised Mas for his climbing strength. He also admitted the sprint finish felt intense and risky. In addition, the UAE Team Emirates XRG rider said fast downhill racing played a major role during the stage.

Eulalio Keeps Pink Jersey

Portuguese cyclist Afonso Eulalio kept the leader’s pink jersey after another strong performance. He still leads the general classification by 27 seconds over Jonas Vingegaard. Meanwhile, the main group finished more than three minutes behind the stage winner. Earlier in the race, several riders attempted breakaways from the peloton. Eventually, a 12-man group gained a solid advantage during the second climb. However, a crash during a descent split the leading riders and changed the race dynamics.
Italian rider Diego Ulissi finished third after a late push near the line. Mas, meanwhile, missed the chance to win on his Giro debut. The Spaniard has finished runner-up three times at the Vuelta a España. Stage 12 will feature a flatter route from Imperia to Novi Ligure. Fans now expect another exciting battle as the Giro d’Italia continues.
