Punjab Eid SOPs Enforced as Maryam Nawaz Announces Rs50,000 Fine
Maryam Nawaz has ordered strict implementation of Punjab Eid SOPs across the province before Eid ul Azha. Authorities will focus on cleanliness, security, and public convenience during the holidays. In addition, officials will impose a Rs50,000 fine on people who dump animal waste on roads, streets, canals, or drains.
The Punjab chief minister chaired a video-link meeting to review Eid arrangements on Friday. During the meeting, she directed deputy commissioners and police officers to stay active in the field throughout the holidays. She also warned officials against negligence and poor enforcement of government instructions.
Punjab Strengthens Eid Security Measures
Maryam Nawaz ordered authorities to stop the sale of sacrificial animals at unauthorized locations. Therefore, livestock trading will remain limited to officially approved cattle markets only. Officials also announced digital surveillance and monitoring at cattle markets across Punjab.
Meanwhile, security teams will increase patrols to prevent cattle theft and robbery incidents. Authorities also ordered strict action against banned organizations involved in hide collection activities. In addition, officials will enforce restrictions on loudspeaker use at hide-collection camps.
The Punjab government also directed police to increase security in sensitive areas. As a result, law enforcement agencies will conduct combing operations during Eid holidays. Authorities will strictly enforce bans on aerial firing and public display of weapons as well.
Cleanliness and Public Safety Remain Priority
The chief minister instructed departments to ensure uninterrupted water supply during Eid days. Officials must also maintain cleanliness near mosques, Eidgahs, and public areas across Punjab. Furthermore, authorities will cover dumping sites located near airports.
The meeting also approved a province-wide ban on temporary swings during Eid holidays. Officials ordered safety inspections of amusement rides operating in parks and recreational spaces. In addition, cyber patrol teams will monitor social media platforms for hateful or unlawful content during the festive period.
