Horror comic sensation Exquisite Corpses is rapidly expanding into a major multimedia franchise with a new tabletop game, upcoming spin-off comics, and a live-action movie adaptation currently in development. The critically acclaimed series launched in 2025 and quickly became one of horror’s breakout comic hits.
Created by James Tynion IV and Michael Walsh, Exquisite Corpses centers around a deadly Halloween battle royale featuring assassins, mercenaries, and serial killers chosen by the mysterious Thirteen Families. The franchise has gained attention for its unique storytelling style and unforgettable killer designs.
Exquisite Corpses Tabletop Game Fully Funded
Publisher Tiny Onion recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for Exquisite Corpses: The Game, a tabletop card game designed for 4 to 12 players. The campaign reached full funding within just over an hour, highlighting the franchise’s rapidly growing popularity among horror fans.
The tabletop adaptation allows players to control different killers while bluffing, battling, and surviving through dynamic card-based gameplay. Developers also confirmed that stretch goals include custom dice, tokens, and even cameo appearances in the comic’s second season.
Movie Adaptation And Spin-Off Comics Incoming
The Exquisite Corpses universe will continue expanding in 2027 with multiple spin-off comics focused on fan-favorite killers including Rascal Randy, Fox Mask Killer, and Lone Gunman. Season two of the main comic series is also officially in development.
Meanwhile, Lyrical Media is producing a live-action Exquisite Corpses movie adaptation with James Tynion IV attached as producer. The adaptation is expected to recreate the brutal horror battles and dark mythology that helped make the comic series a breakout success.
