Fable Release Date Confirmed Alongside New Villain

Xbox and Playground Games have officially confirmed the new Fable release date while unveiling a major character reveal during Summer Game Fest. The highly anticipated fantasy RPG will launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.

Fable Release Date Set for February 2027

After months of speculation following development delays, Playground Games has now locked in a release date for the upcoming reboot. The announcement came alongside a new trailer that offered fresh story details and a closer look at several key characters.
The latest footage showcased the magical world of Albion while highlighting the game’s signature blend of fantasy, humor, and adventure that made the original series so popular among RPG fans.

Hayley Atwell Joins Fable as Villain

The trailer also confirmed that Hayley Atwell will play Isabel, one of the game’s primary antagonists. Known for portraying Agent Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Atwell brings extensive acting experience to the highly anticipated reboot.
According to Playground Games, Isabel is a powerful Hero driven by grief and a desire to correct past injustices. Her determination places her in direct conflict with the Hero of Briar Hill and other major characters throughout the story.
Fans also spotted what appears to be the return of Jack of Blades, the iconic villain from the original Fable. While his role remains unclear, the reveal has generated excitement among longtime followers of the franchise ahead of the game’s 2027 launch.
