Voters in Switzerland have rejected a proposal.

The idea was to limit the country’s population to 10 million. Therefore, the initiative has failed.Results showed nearly 55% of participants voted against. Only 45% voted in favour. Turnout was high at 60% of the population.
The Proposal Meant
Supporters argued that growth strains housing and transport. However, opponents said a cap would hurt the economy. They also warned it would damage Switzerland’s international standing. As a result, voters sided with the “no” campaign.The outcome is final. No further action will be taken.
