Publisher 2K Games has officially announced when the servers for WWE 2K25 will be shut down, giving players a clear timeline for how long the wrestling title’s online features will remain active. Despite being released only six months ago, the game’s online services are now confirmed to remain accessible until March 14, 2027.
Server retirements are common across sports and multiplayer games, primarily due to ongoing upkeep costs, license expirations, and shifting publishing priorities. The increasing trend toward digital-only games has further highlighted concerns, with the Stop Killing Games movement drawing attention to titles becoming inaccessible once removed from digital storefronts. While WWE 2K25 is the latest 2K title to have its end date revealed, players at least have nearly two years of advance notice.
The announcement arrived shortly after WWE 2K25 was featured in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog. According to 2K’s official Online Services Status page, all online functionality will cease on March 14, 2027, exactly two years from its launch date. This means fans still have time to enjoy multiplayer matches, climb the leaderboards, and experiment with Community Creations. However, with the game costing $70 across platforms, many players believe two years of online support feels somewhat limited.
On Nintendo’s Switch 2, the timeline is even shorter. WWE 2K25 launched there in July 2025, months after its debut on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Priced the same as other platforms, the handheld edition also omits features like image uploads and Community Creations, giving Switch players less overall value.
In comparison, WWE 2K23 and WWE 2K24 were supported for around 22 months, so WWE 2K25 is technically enjoying a slightly longer window. Still, it joins other 2K titles scheduled to go offline in 2027, including PGA Tour 2K23 on February 28. Meanwhile, The Golf Club 2019 and PGA Tour 2K21 will shut down later this year, on October 30.
