Valorant Act 4 Update Adds New Map And Fast-Paced Game Mode

Riot Games has officially revealed the biggest features arriving with Valorant Season 2026 Act 4. Launching on June 24, the update introduces a brand-new map called Summit alongside an exciting limited-time game mode known as Retake.

Summit Brings A Fresh Battlefield To Valorant

The new Summit map is set within the Chinese training academy and monastery where Sage trained before joining the Valorant Protocol. Designed as a three-lane map featuring two spike sites, Summit introduces several unique mechanics that make matches more dynamic.
Most notably, players can activate three droppable walls that alter pathways and sightlines throughout the match. This creates new strategic opportunities and encourages teams to constantly adapt their approach. To help players learn the map, Riot Games is introducing a Summit-only queue during its launch week. Additionally, ranked rating penalties for losses on Summit will be reduced by 50 percent during the first two weeks after release.

Retake Mode Focuses On Fast-Paced Action

While Summit is a major addition, many players are equally excited about Retake. This new 3v3 limited-time mode removes several of Valorant’s traditional systems to create a faster and more accessible experience.
Players receive randomized loadouts each round and immediately enter battles centered around an already-planted spike. There is no need to purchase weapons or manage economy systems between rounds. The result is a streamlined mode focused entirely on combat, teamwork, and quick decision-making.

Act 4 Brings Even More Content

Alongside Summit and Retake, Valorant Act 4 will also introduce a new battle pass and the Blackspyre Collection weapon skin line. These additions provide players with fresh cosmetic rewards and progression opportunities throughout the season.
With a brand-new map, a faster game mode, and additional customization options, Valorant Act 4 looks set to be one of the most significant updates the game has received this year.
