Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan Visit Highlights Growing Regional Cooperation

The Masoud Pezeshkian Visit to Pakistan began on Tuesday as the Iranian president arrived in Islamabad for a one-day official trip. Senior Pakistani leaders welcomed him at Nur Khan Airbase with full state honors. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and other officials received the visiting leader. In addition, Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets conducted a ceremonial flypast, while authorities presented a 21-gun salute in his honor. The visit comes at an important time for the region following recent diplomatic developments involving Iran and the United States.

Leaders Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Stability

President Pezeshkian arrived with a high-level delegation that included Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and senior officials. Earlier, Araghchi held separate meetings with President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad. Therefore, both sides began discussions even before the Iranian president’s arrival.
During the visit, Pakistani and Iranian leaders are expected to review bilateral relations and explore new opportunities for cooperation. Key topics include trade, energy, border management, regional connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges. Furthermore, officials will discuss ways to strengthen economic partnerships and improve coordination on regional issues.
