Youm-e-Ashur Pakistan Observed Nationwide with Mourning Processions and Tight Security
Youm-e-Ashur Pakistan is being observed across the country with deep religious devotion. People are remembering the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), his family members, and loyal companions. The day highlights the values of justice, truth, courage, and sacrifice. Muslims across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, are participating in mourning processions and majalis. Meanwhile, authorities have enforced strict security measures to ensure peaceful observance.
Processions Held Across Pakistan
Thousands of mourners have joined Zuljanah processions in cities across the country. Religious gatherings are also taking place to honor the martyrs of Karbala. Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) embraced martyrdom with 72 family members and companions while standing against oppression. Therefore, the day continues to inspire people with its message of faith and resilience.
Volunteers have also established water and milk stalls along procession routes. These facilities are serving mourners throughout the day. In Karachi, the main procession started from Nishtar Park Chowrangi. It will conclude at Hussainia Irania Imambargah in Kharadar after following its traditional route. Similarly, Lahore’s main procession began from Nisar Haveli and will end at Imambargah Gamay Shah.
Security Remains on High Alert
Authorities have deployed police, Rangers, and other law enforcement personnel across major cities. In addition, officials have installed CCTV cameras at important locations to monitor the processions. These measures aim to maintain peace and public safety.
Lahore has deployed more than 20,000 police officers for security duties. Likewise, Peshawar has arranged security for nine processions and sealed roads along the main route. The city’s central procession will begin from Imambargah Syed Alam Shah. In Quetta, the main procession started from Alamdar Road under strict security. Similar processions are also taking place in Hyderabad, Sanghar, Dera Ismail Khan, Jhang, and Jam Nawaz Ali. As a result, people across Pakistan continue to observe Youm-e-Ashur with unity, respect, and unwavering faith while remembering the timeless message of Karbala.
